Welcome to Lake Y.

Lake Y is a private members' health, fitness and lifestyle resort built around wellbeing, personal development, recreation, respect for nature, and community. Our members choose Lake Y because it provides a welcoming, safe, peaceful and premium environment in which to exercise, relax and socialise.

​

To preserve this environment for all members, guests, visitors and staff, every member is required to read, understand and comply with this Code of Conduct.

​

Membership at Lake Y is a privilege granted at the discretion of Lake Y management. By joining or renewing membership, members agree to uphold both the spirit and the letter of this Code.

​

Failure to comply may result in warnings, suspension, immediate removal from site, or permanent termination of membership without refund.

 

1. OUR COMMUNITY VALUES

All members are expected to:

• Treat others with courtesy, dignity and respect.

• Behave in a manner that contributes positively to the Lake Y community.

• Respect the wellbeing, safety and enjoyment of other members.

• Respect Lake Y staff, instructors, contractors and volunteers.

• Support an inclusive environment where all individuals feel welcome regardless of age, sex, disability, race, religion, nationality, gender identity or sexual orientation.

• Conduct themselves in a manner befitting a premium members' resort.

Members are expected to demonstrate good judgement at all times, even where a situation is not specifically addressed within these rules.

 

2. UNACCEPTABLE CONDUCT

The following behaviour is strictly prohibited:

• Aggressive, intimidating or confrontational behaviour.

• Verbal abuse, harassment or bullying.

• Discriminatory, racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic or otherwise offensive remarks.

• Threatening behaviour towards members, guests or staff.

• Physical violence or attempted violence.

• Deliberate provocation of conflict.

• Excessive swearing or offensive language.

• Behaviour likely to cause alarm, distress or discomfort to others.

• Deliberately disrupting activities, events or classes.

• Persistent complaints delivered in an abusive or unreasonable manner.

• Any conduct that damages the reputation of Lake Y.

A member does not need to receive a warning before disciplinary action is taken.

 

3. PREMIUM ENVIRONMENT EXPECTATIONS

Members must help preserve the atmosphere that makes Lake Y unique.

Accordingly, members must not:

• Behave in a loud, rowdy, disruptive or anti-social manner.

• Treat Lake Y as a party venue.

• Create excessive noise.

• Use speakers or amplified music without permission.

• Engage in behaviour that detracts from the enjoyment of others.

• Encourage or tolerate disruptive conduct from guests.

Members are expected to be considerate of those seeking exercise, recovery, relaxation, mindfulness and wellbeing.

 

4. RESPECT FOR STAFF

Lake Y operates a zero-tolerance policy towards abuse of staff.

Members must:

• Follow reasonable instructions from staff.

• Treat all staff with courtesy and professionalism.

• Raise concerns respectfully through appropriate channels.

Abusive, threatening or intimidating conduct towards staff may result in immediate termination of membership.

 

5. HEALTH, SAFETY & COMPLIANCE

Members must:

• Follow all safety rules, signage and instructions.

• Observe activity-specific operating procedures.

• Use facilities only for their intended purpose.

• Act responsibly at all times.

Members must not:

• Recklessly endanger themselves or others.

• Ignore safety instructions.

• Enter restricted areas.

• Tamper with safety equipment.

• Deliberately create hazards.

Lake Y reserves the right to suspend access to any activity where safety concerns arise.

 

6. WATER ACTIVITIES

This section applies to swimming, paddle boarding and any future water-based activities.

Members must:

• Follow all lake safety rules and briefing requirements.

• Use approved equipment where required.

• Stay within designated activity areas.

• Comply with all instructions from water safety personnel.

Members must not:

• Enter the water while impaired by alcohol or drugs.

• Behave recklessly in or around the lake.

• Misuse safety equipment.

• Enter closed or restricted sections of the lake.

Any action placing another participant at risk may result in immediate removal from the site and termination of membership.

 

7. SPORTS, FITNESS & WELLNESS ACTIVITIES

Members participating in padel, yoga, running, fitness sessions, wellness events or future activities must:

• Follow instructor guidance.

• Participate respectfully.

• Respect personal space.

• Use equipment responsibly.

• Return equipment after use.

Unsporting conduct, cheating, intimidation or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated.

 

8. BEACH, LAKESIDE & SOCIAL AREAS

Members must:

• Keep communal spaces clean and tidy.

• Dispose of litter appropriately.

• Respect others' enjoyment of the environment.

• Leave facilities in good condition.

Members must not:

• Damage property.

• Leave rubbish.

• Create disturbances.

• Occupy facilities in a manner that prevents reasonable use by others.

 

9. GUEST RESPONSIBILITY

Members remain fully responsible for the conduct and behaviour of any guests they bring onto the site.

Members must:

• Ensure guests comply with all Lake Y rules and policies.

• Supervise their guests at all times and ensure they behave in a safe, respectful and responsible manner.

• Inform guests of all relevant safety procedures and site rules.

Misconduct by a guest may result in disciplinary action against the sponsoring member.

 

10. ALCOHOL, DRUGS & INTOXICATION

Lake Y promotes the responsible consumption of alcohol and does not condone drinking and driving under any circumstances. Members and guests are expected to consume alcohol responsibly and ensure they have safe transport arrangements if they intend to drink.

Members must not:

• Use illegal substances on Lake Y property.

• Attend activities while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• Supply illegal substances to others.

• Engage in behaviour associated with intoxication.

Lake Y reserves the right to refuse the sale or service of alcohol to any person who is, or appears to be, intoxicated, or whose behaviour may present a risk to themselves, other guests, staff or property.

 

Lake Y also reserves the right to refuse entry to, or remove from the premises, any individual who is believed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or whose behaviour is deemed unsafe, disruptive or inappropriate.

11. SOCIAL MEDIA & REPUTATION

Members are welcome to share their experiences.

​

However, members must not:

• Harass or target other members online.

• Publish content that invades the privacy of others.

• Deliberately damage the reputation of Lake Y through false, abusive or malicious statements.

• Share confidential information concerning members, staff or operations.

Constructive feedback is always welcome through official channels.

 

12. PRIVACY & PHOTOGRAPHY

Lake Y is committed to providing a welcoming environment where members and guests can enjoy the facilities with respect for one another's privacy.

 

Members must:

• Respect the privacy and personal space of other members, guests and staff at all times.

• Obtain reasonable consent before photographing or filming individuals where they are the main subject of the image.

Members must not:

• Photograph or film individuals without reasonable consent.

• Publish or share images, videos or live streams that may compromise another person's privacy, safety or enjoyment of the club.

• Use photography, videography or social media in a manner that is intrusive, disruptive or commercially exploitative without the prior written consent of Lake Y.

Members are responsible for ensuring that their guests also comply with this policy.

Lake Y reserves the right to request the removal of any content that breaches these standards and may take disciplinary action where this policy is not followed.

 

 

13. PROPERTY & FACILITIES

Members must:

• Respect all facilities, buildings, equipment and landscaping.

• Report damage promptly.

• Leave facilities as they found them.

Members may be charged for deliberate or negligent damage.

 

14. COMMERCIAL ACTIVITY

Unless expressly authorised by Lake Y management, members must not:

• Conduct business activities on site.

• Provide coaching services.

• Organise commercial events.

• Sell products or services.

• Promote third-party businesses.

 

15. ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

Members are expected to support Lake Y's commitment to preserving its natural setting.

Members must:

• Respect wildlife and habitats.

• Dispose of waste responsibly.

• Avoid pollution of the lake or grounds.

• Follow any environmental guidance issued by Lake Y.

 

16. DISCIPLINARY ACTION

Lake Y reserves the absolute right to investigate complaints and incidents.

Possible actions include:

• Verbal warning.

• Written warning.

• Temporary suspension.

• Activity restrictions.

• Immediate removal from site.

• Permanent termination of membership.​

Lake Y may take disciplinary action where behaviour:

• Breaches these rules.

• Endangers safety.

• Damages property.

• Harms the reputation of Lake Y.

• Is inconsistent with the values of the Lake Y community.

Management decisions regarding membership suitability are final.

 

17. TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP

Lake Y reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership at its sole discretion where a member:

• Behaves in a disruptive, rowdy or anti-social manner.

• Demonstrates conduct inconsistent with a premium members' environment.

• Harasses, intimidates or abuses others.

• Endangers safety.

• Repeatedly breaches rules.

• Brings Lake Y into disrepute.

Membership termination may occur without prior warning where the seriousness of the conduct justifies immediate action.

No member has an automatic right to continued membership.

 

MEMBER DECLARATION

I acknowledge that:

• I have read and understood the Lake Y Membership Code of Conduct.

• I agree to comply with all rules, policies and reasonable instructions issued by Lake Y.

• I understand that membership is a privilege and not an entitlement.

• I understand that breaches may result in suspension or termination of membership.

• I accept responsibility for my conduct and the conduct of any guests I introduce to Lake Y.
